The Beat's Stadium!

I almost forgot to update with one of the most exciting things this week: the stadium!

We have just recently announced the stadium for the Atlanta Beat.

It will be the one and only women-specific stadium in the WORLD.

This is so exciting for everyone involved, and it also has a very large importance to Kennesaw State University as well. This stadium will be part of KSU's campus, it is being built right across from the new club fields, and will also be used by the KSU women's soccer team.

There will be seating for about 8300 fans and will also even be used as a concert venue for 16000 people (they'll cover the field for lawn tickets).

The stadium should be ready for the April 2010 Atlanta Beat season opener game!

Last few Beats..

My time here at the Atlanta Beat is about to end. I have been so busy. It's crazy, because normally when a semester is over I feel like it's gone by so fast, but this one in particular has absolutely flown right by me. Where did the time go?!

I've got one week left, and I am basically tying up loose ends. I have to make sure that all my Street Team members don't get forgotten about, and that there is someone with all the contact info they need in order to continue the volunteer system I created.

The last couple of weeks I have been working out at local area soccer tournaments. We have created a prize wheel, and a raffle ticket game for people to sign up for in order to win free tickets. We go out, talk about The Beat, and just give all the info we can on our team and schedule. We have started selling season tickets and have gotten a great response from all of our fans.

It's interesting that a lot of the followers of the previous Atlanta Beat team, although it was years ago, have been patiently waiting the Women's Pro Socer return. Atlanta has a great soccer following, and that will only help the Atlanta beat to prosper in the next few years!
